The Fourth State of Mind

  1. Dear Brielle,

I think you have the basic concepts down for this project in terms of transitioning and narration. However, the visual images are all over the place in terms of style and also don't match the subject matter. The essay is about lose and grief, so using cartoons and clip art is less effective. Think too about how you can be less literal in your images. They can be representations of an idea rather than the actual thing. I know that for your final project, you will be using your own photos and videos, so this will be less of a problem, but even in those choices, be sure that there are choices being made for pacing and reflecting in less obvious ways. You'll set the pace for each picture and video, so consider how you might vary the speed or the transitions from one moment to the next. I also recommend practicing what you're going to read once or twice before narrating it so you have a feel for the words and can slow down or speed up accordingly.

  3. I like how this style of video was similar to what I did with a slideshow of pictures and narration. The pictures were literal in terms of the passage you read but it went straight to the point in my opinion.

  4. I did like the format of your video. It was simple and the narration was easy to hear. The clips did relate to the portion of the story you chose to use. Good job!
